Family and friends attended a funeral for departed world renowned singer Whitney Houston in New Jersey today. The ceremony was at a church Whitney attended as a child.
In the capacity filled invitation only service stars Stevie Wonder, her cousin Dionne Warwick, Alicia Keys, Kevin Costner, paid glowing tributes to Whitney. Whitney died on February 11 on the eve of the Grammy Awards while at the Beverly Hills hotel.
Houston’s mom Cissy and daughter could be heard sobbing when her casket was taken out of church accompanied by her hit “I will always love you”. She was laid to rest near her father’s grave.
Bobby Brown, Whitney Houston Ex husband was also in attendance.
However he left early. Later he issued a statement saying that security asked him to move three times and he left because he did not want to cause a scene.

Other stars in attendance included Rev Kim Burrell, Jennifer Hudson, Ray J, Clive Davis, and Bebe Winans. Steve Wonder, Brandy, Jordin Sparks and Oprah were also there
Kevin Costner who co starred in the movie “The bodyguard” with Whitney gave moving eulogy.
Filmmaker Tyler Perry praised the singer who sang for presidents and kings. Dionne Warwick presided over the ceremony.
Rest in peace Whitney. We will always love you .
